Since 1965, the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission has provided hot meals (140,000 annually) and overnight shelter to 52,000 homeless guests each year. The mission also operates a state-certified, 12-month residential treatment program for people battling substance abuse that offers career training, education, relapse prevention, family counseling and more. The mission depends solely on community donations for financial support. Many of our covenant partners and people in the congregation have served on the board and on the Women’s Auxiliary, and have otherwise volunteered their time. Opportunities to serve include mentoring, tutoring, serving meals and helping with special events and fundraising.
