08-02, The Best is Yet to Come, Tom Haugen

Ruth 4:

Today we’re in our fourth and final week of our sermon series on Ruth. This story of love and redemption shows us God’s loving kindness, compassion, mercy and grace for his people. It shows us that God provides and redeems; foreshadowing the greatest redemption when God saved us from our sin by sacrificing his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. As we worship today, may our hearts be encouraged, may our love abound in knowledge and depth of insight and may our hands be equipped to produce the fruits of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory of God.

This week Ruth 3

Ruth – A Love Story of Redemption

On one level the Old Testament book of Ruth describes the love story of Ruth and Boaz, but it is so much more than an earthy love story. Ruth is a book about deep and loyal friendship and most importantly it is all about God’s provision, care and deep love for his people. Ruth is a love story taking us on a journey of extremes – from death to life, barrenness to fruitfulness, pain to joy, cursing to blessing, bitterness to worship, and loneliness to community. The love, mercy, and kindness of God shine brightly in this beautiful love story.
